Steps, Forward and Back
I'm not one for regrets. Things just are. We could always look back and think, "Ooh, I should have...", and maybe I do that once in a while, but I typically don't dwell on that kind of crud, because not only did I have some unbelievable experiences, but I *hope I never hurt anyone, and that's about as good as you can hope for, perhaps. But it has more recently occurred to me that pretty much every decision I've made, other than maybe moving to Korea in 2009, has been the wrong one. As my father said quite often, I am a slow learner (unsure I actually ever do). It doesn't bust my chops that this feels like the case, but it doesn't boost my confidence moving forward - as if I had any to begin with. For the longest chunk of my life, I didn't give two shits about things that I had no control of. I am wondering if it's because I kept myself heavily medicated with alcohol every weekend, or if it's just that life seems to be getting harder in...
