Who Comes Up With This Stuff?
So to renew your teaching license in the state of Minnesota, you need to do 125 clock hours in a variety of different ways, including writing some statements, participating in suicide prevention programs, ELL training, and proactive reading strategy training, among other things. No longer can you simply continue your education through a university, though that is another way you can add to the clock hours. Renewing a license for a teacher is a lengthy involved process.
Yet they are now giving people, with no training in education, licenses to teach in Minnesota. They give them the license due to, "life experience".
And people like me who went to a university and went through the professional programs have to keep jumping through hoops and over bridges but someone with no training can get a license.
I don't understand it. Who comes up with this stuff?
