Because He Knows, The Time Is Short...
The kids at Imja Nam Cho were great but a little rowdy today.
Kindergarten went well with trying a new fishing activity.
I rigged fly swatter handles with string and magnets and they caught letters with paper clips in the mouths of the fish. They'd hook and hoist the fish, and if it was the correct letter, I had them bring the fish and the rod to Mr. Go. They'd then give the rod to another student and wait. They seemed to enjoy it.
When I returned, the Principal and Vice Principal were at the foot of my stairs. They were looking at a new puppy that someone put in a box under my stairway. I have a hunch it's the owner of the last two puppies, and we know how that turned out last time.
The puppy looks like a little snowball with a black nose. When I got closer, he seemed a little short of breath. I think he's hot, though he had a nice big bowl of water available. Who knows, maybe he's just terrified for what his future holds. I know I am.
As I looked at the puppy, I heard old eoppa begin beating his son in their apartment. I am wondering if he found out that #1 son is in trouble and in the teacher's room every single day at the middle school. While I think it might be deserved, it seemed like the beating went on a little longer than it should.
One of the newer teachers came around the corner and heard what I heard. I tried to explain that it had been going on for a while and that I think #1 son knows by now whatever point eoppa was trying to get across. I don't think he understood what I was saying.
I feel a little bit like one of the fish in our kindergarten activity today; out of water.
