New

Vacation has come and gone.
I am ready to begin work, but the transition is no fun.  I have 2 new co-teachers.  I thought I would have 3, but one changed her mind at the last minute and decided to stay.  I'm actually not so happy about this as she is somewhat manic.  It makes me less want to go to that school, but oh well.

I am seriously considering my future here.  I like the schools well enough.  The students are nice and are fun, but the hurry up and wait way things get done is beginning to drain me.  Best example is the school with the same co-teacher; she couldn't tell me what the school schedule was (1st day of class), and that it would likely change, yet returned later to find out when I wanted to do an "open class', which is a big deal to them.  She did many open classes last semester since she wants to be a Vice Principal somewhere, and it only added to her manic behavior.  I told her she could schedule it whenever she wanted as long as she gave me a little time to prepare.

I am excited, however, to see who my co-teacher is in my third school.  I love the students there, and even more so, I love the staff.  They are very welcoming and extremely fun.  I stopped by to get a textbook and instantly felt better, though I didn't get to meet the new teacher.  We'll see how that goes.

Cherry blossoms should be out within 6 weeks (I think?  I can't remember), and this area has many spots that have them, my main school included.  I am really hoping I can get some good photos this year, since last spring on Imja was a complete bust.  And speaking of Imja, I sure would like to get back there and say, "Hi", but weekend plans and schedules keep getting in the way.  It's not far by car, so I need to just take a weekend and do it.  Maybe just stay one night.

Here's a few photos from vacation to lighten the mood:
